When Autel debuted the MaxiSYS MS906 tablet line in 2017, one goal was to give the general repair technician a workhorse of a tablet line with exceptional vehicle coverage and functionality to meet the diagnostic and service challenges of every vehicle that enters the shop.
The other was to offer the Android-based touchscreen wireless tablets at an equally exceptional accessible price point. The 906 and its sister tools, the MS906BT and MS906TS, did not disappoint, and they soon became the go-to tablets for technicians throughout North America.
A few tablet generations later, the latest entry, the MaxiSYS MS906 MAX, seems poised to grab the industry’s attention again.

No Limitations
Autel is committed to providing its users with solutions that enable them to diagnose and service all the vehicle brands that come into their shops, even the OEs’ newest releases. The MS906 MAX is approved by Stellantis (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Fiat) and Nissan for Security Gateway Module access via AutoAuth. Autel was one of the first aftermarket scan tool manufacturers to receive approval for its tools. Such authorization allows users’ tools registered with AutoAuth—the aftermarket tool OE-authentication service—to access the secure model and perform diagnostics, including code clearing, bidirectional tests, and services, including ADAS calibrations, TPMS relearns, and other protected actions. [GB2] Stellantis, then FCA, started equipping its vehicles with a Security Gateway in 2017 models. Nissan implemented its version of the security model, the Central Gateway, on 2020, and newer Sentras, 2022 and newer Pathfinders, and 2021 and newer Rogues.
Revenue-Generating Opportunities
Still, the MS906 MAX offers users even greater value and revenue-generating service opportunities. Purchase the inexpensive MaxiBAS BT506 (a Bluetooth-enabled testing device with a battery clamp cable) and transform the tablet into a powerful battery, starter, and charging system. Autel battery testing tools use adaptive conductance technology, usually only found on much more expensive tools, to quickly identify the battery’s state of charge and state of health. The 906 MAX’s Battery Test app can test 6V and 12V Flooded, AGM, AGM Spiral, EFB, and GEL batteries with a range of 100-3000 CCA in the vehicle and out of the vehicle. One out of four vehicle batteries is estimated to be in poor condition, so why not test it with every vehicle service? The application can also perform battery registration, an increasingly necessary procedure for new vehicles.
The MaxiSYS MS906 MAX is also ADAS Calibrations capable with an ADAS calibration software upgrade and the purchase of either the MaxiSYS Standard Frame or the MaxiSYS MA600 mobile ADAS Frame Systems. Both are available in Lane Departure Warning (LDW) or All-System calibration packages.
Autel tablets are the perfect combination of innovation and value, and we’re proud that technicians have reached for an MS906, confident that it can do the task, no matter the vehicle or task. The new MS906 MAX is a worthy successor to those tablets, offering users a product worthy of their skills and ambitions.
