With another new year underway, we’d like to introduce our launch of Autel Heroes, which will honor Autel users who give their automotive knowledge, talent, and time to help those in their community. Each month, we will profile the good works of a technician, teacher, or community leader and offer our continued support with the Autel products they need. We are humbled by the quality of professionals and the extraordinarily kind and caring people who use our products, and we’re proud to share their stories.
Jay Mellis of Michigan is a Master Mechanic and Autel user who “always had a passion for working on cars as well as serving the community.” For three years now, Jay has run the Car Care program for Redford Brightmoor Initiative, a community-based non-profit. Each Saturday, Jay and volunteers he recruited from a local Detroit high school’s Auto-ED program provide free auto repair services (diagnostics and labor) to low-income community residents. On a recent Saturday, Jay and his team assessed eight vehicles and performed scheduled repairs on three others. Talk about a long day.
Thank you, Jay.
