How Midas of Richmond Uses Autel Equipment to Boost the Bottom Line
Midas of Richmond, a six-location shop with nearly three decades of built community trust, is proof that owning the right tools can make all the difference. In its newest location in Churchill, Virginia, co-owner Mark Smith has integrated the latest cutting-edge equipment from Autel – including the IA900 ADAS calibration frame, an ADAS Bay Max lift, and the MaxiSYS Ultra scan tool. By focusing on ADAS calibrations, alignments, and diagnostics, Midas of Richmond has expanded its service offerings and increased revenue through the added capabilities that come with Autel systems.
Mark shares how ADAS calibration has become a key revenue driver for his business, with the ability to easily perform steering angle adjustments, sensor calibrations, and more, all with a single system and workflow.
“Historically, alignments have been a one-source revenue code. Did you do an alignment or did you not?” Mark said. “With Autel and with ADAS, now you’ve got the calibrations, you’ve got steering angle of inclination – you’ve got all of those services that fit right into a much broader alignment ticket. The alignment can go from a $120-$140 line item on a repair order to potentially $400-$800.”
The success of Midas of Richmond shows that investing in top-tier equipment and training isn’t just about keeping up with technology. It’s about staying ahead of the competition and offering customers the highest level of service.
